About this opportunity

As a Field‑Based Medical Affairs Manager (Oncology), this role will provide YOU the opportunity to execute external scientific engagement and medical initiatives in alignment with the local oncology medical strategy. The role is primarily field‑based and focuses on peer‑to‑peer scientific exchange, generation of actionable medical insights, and delivery of medical projects that support patient care, evidence generation, and informed internal decision‑making, while ensuring the highest standards of regulatory, ethical, and scientific integrity.

Responsibilities

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

Build, maintain, and deepen trusted scientific relationships with oncologists, cancer specialists, and other relevant healthcare professionals.

Deliver accurate, balanced, and non‑promotional scientific exchange on disease areas, clinical data, and emerging evidence.

Capture, synthesize, and communicate high‑quality medical insights from external engagements to inform strategy, planning, and evidence needs.

Support the planning and execution of advisory boards, medical education programs, workshops, and congress activities.

Contribute to local medical initiatives, and external collaborations where appropriate.

Support internal scientific capability building through delivery of medical updates and training when appropriate.

Ensure all interactions and materials follow legal, regulatory and ethical requirements and GSK standards.

Collaboration and impact

You will work closely with medical, clinical, regulatory and commercial colleagues. You will act as a bridge between external scientific communities and internal teams. You will help shape local medical strategies and contribute to projects that improve patient outcomes. You will be expected to work independently in the field while staying connected to the wider medical team.

Qualification

We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

Medical degree (MBBS/MD), pharmacy degree (BPharm/PharmD), or postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant life sciences discipline

Minimum 2 years relevant experience in medical affairs or related roles, preferably in oncology.

Strong understanding of oncology disease areas and clinical data interpretation.

Demonstrated ability to build credible, professional relationships with healthcare professionals.

Familiarity with the Malaysian healthcare and oncology ecosystem.

Ability and willingness to travel regularly within Malaysia and attend scientific meetings as needed. This role is field-based with regular office and virtual collaboration.
