We are looking for an Environmental Regulatory Intelligence Lead who is strategic, analytical, and collaborative to join our Environmental Sustainability team, based at our UCB HQ located in Brussels, Belgium.

About the role:

As Environmental Regulatory Intelligence Lead, you will play a critical role in helping UCB anticipate, understand, and respond to evolving environmental regulations worldwide. You will oversee environmental regulatory intelligence across topics including climate change, pollution control, circular economy, biodiversity, sustainable packaging, ESG reporting, and environmental sustainability procurement. What you will do:

Own the regulatory intelligence portfolio, monitor, identify, and validate emerging environmental sustainability regulations across local, regional, and global levels.

Turn signals into action, oversee AI-enabled intelligence tools and translate validated signals into clear, actionable insights relevant to UCB.

Prioritise by impact and risk, qualify regulatory signals based on business impact, compliance risk, timelines, and organisational exposure.

Coordinate across functions, connect Legal, EHS, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, R&D, Procurement, Packaging, and Supply Chain to ensure integrated, consistent responses.

Drive response strategy, define with UCB experts the mitigation and implementation plans, secure resources, and ensure timely, accountable execution.

Escalate and support decisions, bring critical, ambiguous, or cross-functional matters through governance channels to enable enterprise-level decisions.

Provide management visibility, maintain dashboards, regulatory heatmaps, and forward-looking roadmaps for senior stakeholders.

Represent UCB externally, engage in industry associations, regulatory forums, and advocacy initiatives to monitor and help shape policy developments.

Ensure traceability and audit readiness, maintain structured tracking, documentation, and reporting to support compliance and inspection readiness.

Build capability and improve continuously, support onboarding and awareness-building, and refine workflows, governance, and digital tooling over time.

Interested? For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills:

Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Law, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
