About the role:
The Ecosystem Analytics Lead operates as a strategic consultant and analytics/reporting expert in support of UCB’s commercial activities, focusing on the immunology market. This role interfaces extensively with US Home Office and Field Leadership, and has high level of interface across commercial, market access, and enabling functions. The role is within US Insights to Impact / Business Analytics. Scope is primarily U.S. and Immunology, with occasional collaboration across other US Business Units and global projects.
What you’ll do:
Business Planning and Strategy:
Develop, maintain, and enhance commercial performance reports and dashboards, with emphasis on subnational level of detail; key audiences include Field Leadership and Home Office leads/heads
Lead analysis, interpretation, and generation of meaningful insights, specifically from a subnational perspective, from various data (e.g., ex-factory, patient support programs, IQVIA, CRM, SAP) to address performance questions and identify opportunities
Support preparation of analyses and materials for QBRs and similar local/global management reviews
Collaborate with appropriate UCB teams (e.g., Commercial Data Operations) to ensure recurring resource production (e.g., dashboards) is delivered through UCB and I2I standards processes and technology
Support Commercial Heads to develop analysis, business cases, and decision support as needed
Provide ad hoc analytics (e.g., subnational performance drivers, HCP targeting, customer analytics, pull through analytics) for commercial and functional (e.g., Market Access) teams
Support certain parts of brand/business planning (budget, forecasting cycles), especially providing input to market situation assessments and other assumptions that may impact future performance
Field Force Effectiveness:
Lead periodic business reviews with commercial and field leadership teams to drive field effectiveness
Provide ad hoc/project support, coordinating with Market Research, Incentive Compensation, Advanced Analytics, Finance, Commercial Data Ops, Market Access, and other commercially oriented functions
Data Infrastructure:
Collaborate with Commercial Data Ops and DT/IT to ensure data acquisition, integration, processing, and utilization are aligned with UCB data standards and Data Governance processes
Lead and influence definitions of business requirements and rules; support system testing, data audits, etc., as they relate to commercial data
Leadership:
Significantly influence team’s and stakeholders’ digital- and AI-enabled journey
Partner with Brand and Market Access leadership to ensure a comprehensive view of performance, with clear narratives
Demonstrate proficiency in UCB I2I standards for data governance and reporting platforms (e.g., Qliksense, Power BI)
Advance team capabilities by implementing new tools, practices, methods, automation, AI, and data sources that improve speed, quality, or scalability of delivery
Vendor Relations and Other:
Lead and manage several analytics vendors, including scoping, resource prioritization, day-to-day tasking, and budget management
Manage other tasks as needed, especially as related to commercial performance analysis
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science, or Engineering is required
Minimum 8 years of post-bachelor’s experience is required
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry is required, ideally in commercial operations or commercial support function
Power user of MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint) is required, especially advanced Excel modeling skills and ability to author PowerPoint documents for management audiences
Experience with IQVIA/similar data (Xponent, NPA, LAAD, OneKey), and CRMs (e.g., Veeva) is required
Experience in vendor management or equivalent budget ($500k+ annually) is required
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10% of time)
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or other advanced degree is considered an asset
Neurology and Immunology experience is considered an asset
Demonstrated strong ability and hands-on experience uncovering insights and translating them into commercial actions through analysis, synthesizing, and integrating disparate data
Well-versed and viewed as an SME in data, analytics, and data visualization to drive understanding and impact
Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and define business problems or opportunities and address them through data, analytics, competitive intelligence, and desk research
Proven ability and consultative style that enables strong cross-functional collaboration across various levels of the organization
Highly motivated self-starter with ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to lead and partner with various functional areas
Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Vendor management skills including contracting and negotiating
Ability to work independently and take the lead role on assigned projects
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Working knowledge of advanced analytics and statistical techniques is considered an asset
Experience with patient longitudinal data is considered an asset
Experience with Qliksense, Power BI, Tableau, and SAP is considered an asset
Experience with SQL/R/Python (or equivalent) and large relational data sets is considered an asset
Experience using AI/agentic agents is considered an asset
This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $148,000 to $194,300 per year. The actual salary offered will take into account internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
