Your role
Real-world evidence is reshaping how medicines are developed, approved, and valued, and in this role, you will be at the forefront of that transformation. As a Director Real-World Evidence Scientist in Oncology, you will own and drive the end-to-end RWE strategy for one or more complex, high-priority oncology programs, operating as a recognized scientific authority across the organization and beyond.
You will define and lead the integration of RWE into clinical development and regulatory strategies, working directly with global program teams and cross-functional partners across clinical, regulatory, market access, and commercial functions. You will design, initiate, and oversee non-interventional studies, from protocol development through to study reporting, and ensure the selection of fit-for-purpose real-world data sources that address critical research questions. Your scientific judgment will directly inform decision-making at the most senior levels of the organization.
Beyond program delivery, you will represent the organization in interactions with health authorities, contribute to peer-reviewed publications, and present at international conferences, actively shaping the external scientific landscape. You will also champion methodological innovation, drive process improvements, and serve as a scientific mentor to colleagues within the function, contributing to a culture of rigor, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Who you are
You hold a Master’s degree or PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Biostatistics, or a related discipline, and bring 8 or more years of RWE experience gained in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or contract research organization setting.
You have deep expertise in studies based on secondary data use, including claims data, electronic medical records, and registries, across multiple healthcare environments (Europe, US, and/or Asia), as well as experience in primary data collection.
You are proficient in working with federated data networks and familiar with data standards such as OMOP CDM or FHIR, and bring strong methodological skills spanning epidemiology, pharmacology, and pharmacovigilance.
You have a proven track record of leading RWE strategy at a global program level, navigating complex, matrixed organizations and collaborating effectively across clinical development, regulatory affairs, and market access functions.
You bring experience in regulatory and/or payer submissions and interactions, and a thorough understanding of the evolving regulatory environment for RWE.
You communicate with clarity and confidence, translating complex scientific content for diverse audiences, including senior leadership and external stakeholders, and you are fluent in English.
Ideally, you also bring experience with AI/ML applications in RWE (including NLP), patient-reported outcomes (PRO), health technology assessment, and a track record of thought leadership through publications, conference presentations, or advisory roles.
What we offer: We are curious minds that come from a broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences. We believe that this variety drives excellence and innovation, strengthening our ability to lead in science and technology. We are committed to creating access and opportunities for all to develop and grow at your own pace. How we calculate "similar"
No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.
Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.
0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
