The Director of Project Engineering will lead projects within the Global Engineering department. This role is pivotal in providing successful engineering projects for pharmaceutical manufacturing (R&D, clinical and commercial scale). The Project Engineering manager will be responsible for all project phases, planning, design, build and commissioning, qualification (C&Q) until handover to operations. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the successful execution of capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects.
Your contribution:
Lead and manage projects in matrix organization to deliver project goals in quality, time and budget. Foster a culture of quality, innovation, collaboration, automation, digitalization and continuous improvement within the project team
Development to lead the Global Project Engineering Team (within 1-2 years)
Serve as the Project Lead for national and international projects (small and up to large scale), ensuring successful execution of project phases design, build, commissioning, qualification (C&Q), and handover to operations
Progress reporting to Management and stakeholders
Tracking of milestones, timelines and budget
Actively engage with cross-functional teams, manufacturing, automation, QA, QC, CMC, R&D, MS&T, AS&T, IT, other BioNTech departments and external suppliers, to foster collaboration and ensure seamless integration to ensure project success
Engage with expertise and Know-How in the transformation, build up and management of the existing manufacturing network (internal and CMOs).
It's a match:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Pharmaceutical-, Mechanical-, or Chemical,-Engineering, or a related field
Extensive experience in engineering, quality assurance, GMP design, scheduling and project execution within the pharmaceutical industry
Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams and driving cross-functional collaboration
Knowledge of production-, process-, and analytical equipment, clean utilities and GMP- facilities
Expertise in technology transfers
Strong project management and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities in complex engineering scenarios
Fluent in English and German language
