Role Summary
The Director, International Commercial Excellence is a member of the International Insights, Analytics & Commercial Operations (IIACO) Leadership Team and leads the International Commercial Excellence Team. This role provides strategic and operational business partnership and is responsible for delivering commercial excellence initiatives for all in-line products, supporting field teams across countries in the International region. The role also leads employees, contractors, and vendors, coordinating resources within the department and cross-functionally to deliver against commercial excellence priorities and performance goals. This position reports to the International Senior Director of IIACO and works in close partnership with colleagues across International HQ, as well as regional and local teams.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a member of the IIACO International Leadership Team
Set direction for Commercial Excellence in day-to-day program operations
Drive continuous innovation and build new commercial excellence capabilities for future product launches
Manage the commercial excellence project portfolio, including external budget, with focus on initiatives core to departmental goals
Deliver core commercial excellence programs for country field teams, including: Strategic Account Planning
Field Force KPIs and metrics
Sales Force Incentives
Go-to-market model support
Sales force sizing
Customer data management
CRM
Drive the embedding of commercial excellence initiatives and continuous improvement in countries through close partnership with stakeholders
Provide leadership to employees and contractors/vendors, ensuring clarity on priorities, coaching to exceptional performance, and strong cross-functional collaboration
Build close working relationships with a broad network of stakeholders, including senior leaders across Country, International, and Global teams
Partner closely with Data, Technology & Engineering (DTE) on CRM and other field-force-related tools and systems
Champion appropriate behaviours in a continuously compliant environment and role model integrity and ethics
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline required
Significant experience in the Pharma/Biotechnology sector
Deep knowledge and experience across a wide variety of commercial and field-force excellence areas
Ability to communicate and influence across all levels of the organization
Strong analytical mindset, including demonstrated ability to understand how data and reporting are interpreted and utilized for decision making
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in verbal and written English
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage complex projects requiring collaboration across functional and geographic areas

Ability to anticipate opportunities and challenges and proactively support and shape commercial excellence strategy for International while maintaining a strong execution mindset
Change management capability, including ability to drive and shape change initiatives
Ability to manage complexity with increasing launches and new therapeutic areas and distill the essence of key priorities
Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with focus on multi-tasking and self-prioritized workload
Innovative and flexible approach with a focus on finding solutions
Ability to develop rapport and credibility with key stakeholders, including senior leadership in International, and to lead without authority across functions and geographies
