The Director, Generics Communications is a high-impact, visible leadership role responsible for shaping and driving the global communications agenda for Sandoz’s Generics Development and Manufacturing & Supply organisations.

Serving as a trusted strategic advisor to the Head of Generics Manufacturing & Supply and the Head of Generics Development & Chief Scientific Officer, and their respective leadership teams, the role sits at the heart of a critical and large-scale business area, ensuring that business priorities are translated into compelling, consistent and high-impact narratives across internal and external audiences.

The role will design and execute integrated communications strategies that advance business performance, strengthen organisational alignment across a global workforce, and elevate Sandoz’s leadership position in generics worldwide.

The role reports to the Global Head of Business Communications and is an integral part of the global Sandoz Corporate Communications team.

Major Accountabilities

Strategic Business Partnering & Advisory

Serve as the senior strategic advisor and communications partner to the Head of Generics Manufacturing & Supply and the Head of Generics Development & Chief Scientific Officer, and their respective leadership teams; counsel and advise on all communications topics including strategy, employee engagement, change communications, external communications and thought leadership.

Integrated Communications Strategy & Execution

Design and lead the development and delivery of impactful, integrated communications strategies and plans aligned with business priorities, ensuring clear objectives, measurable outcomes and consistent execution.

Narrative Development & Positioning

Activate a compelling communications narrative and program for the Generics organisations strategy and operating model; ensure consistent tone, voice and messaging across all internal and external platforms.

Change Communications & Engagement

Lead and orchestrate employee engagement and change communications in a complex, global and highly regulated environment, ensuring alignment, clarity and connection to business priorities.

Executive Communications & Event Management

Partner closely with the heads of the function and leadership teams on executive communications, including town halls, leadership forums, messaging and stakeholder engagement; ensure high-quality preparation and delivery across key leadership moments.

External Communications & Thought Leadership

Own and drive the external positioning and thought leadership agenda for the Generics organisations in line with the global framework, including executive visibility, media engagement, industry platforms and narrative development that reinforces Sandoz’s leadership in this space. Oversee creation of high-impact content (e.g. articles, blogs, videos, newsletters, presentations).

Enterprise Alignment & Governance

Serve as the primary point of contact for global generics communications, working in close alignment with the Head of Business Communications, the Head of Corporate Communications and the wider communications community.

Ensure alignment of the Generics communications agenda with the broader corporate communications strategy, contributing to enterprise-wide priorities, transformation efforts and reputation building.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Employee Experience

Work in close collaboration with P&O and Global Internal Communications to create a consistent, engaging and high-quality Sandoz employee experience across the respective organisations.

Orchestration & Delivery Excellence

Lead and orchestrate communications activities and engagement in alignment with overall communications strategy and priorities; ensure high-quality, timely delivery across channels and stakeholders.

Measurement and Continuous Improvement

Track effectiveness of communication activities through feedback, analytics and KPIs; continuously refine strategies based on insights and business needs.

What you need to bring to the role:

Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing or a related field

Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus)

10+ years of progressive leadership experience in corporate communications, leading integrated communication plans within a complex, multinational environment (Healthcare/ Pharma experience is an asset)

A proven track record of designing and delivering integrated communications plans with a focus on measurable stakeholder engagement and impact

Demonstrates strategic thinking, business acumen and execution excellence

Experience in Generics space is an asset

Exceptional interpersonal and emotional intelligence, able to build collaborative partnerships across diverse cultures, geographies and business units

Successful track record in executive and change communications

Has worked successfully with Cs-suite executives demonstrating exceptional partnering and coaching skills

Sandoz compensation is determined by job level, qualifications, niche skills, experience, and location within company salary ranges. Fully proficient and highly effective employees can expect a starting salary around market median, with those new to the level or with less functional depth at the lower end of the range and those with sustained superior or niche skills towards the higher end of the range. Internal equity and external market data inform our range placement. Annual salary reviews consider performance outcomes, market alignment, and business needs.
