General Summary:

The Director, Commercial Training will work to enhance the skills and knowledge competencies of commercial and other relevant teams. This role will be primarily responsible for developing and executing training and development strategy ensuring commercial teams are equipped to excel. This role will work cross-functionally across a variety of internal stakeholders.

This role involves leading a team, managing training portfolios, and fostering collaboration with cross-functional partners to drive exceptional performance. As a people manager within the organization, this role may have financial accountabilities and human resource responsibilities for assigned staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Creates a comprehensive learning-strategy that supports teams and organizational goals

Conducts performance analyses to accurately diagnose and identify the skill/knowledge gaps required to support workplace competencies

Matches the most appropriate learning solution to maximize workplace performance

Conducts training needs assessments and designs continuous learning initiatives consistent with findings and needs of the business

Serve on the relevant leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making.

Develop and implement the vision and strategy for training and capabilities.

Perform training needs assessments and design continuous learning initiatives tailored to specific teams.

Leads and facilitates the Initial Training Class (ITC), and Phase 2 classes for all newly hired members

Manages a training budget on a quarterly and annual basis

Collaborates with cross-functional teams to plan, design and deliver all related training

Leads scientific discussions on product and clinical topics

Manages and mentors a team and individuals

Knowledge and Skills:

Customer-facing experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech industry

Experience in training design and development

Training experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry related to rare disease

Demonstrates the ability to work independently and manage projects that require collaboration across functional areas

Experience managing and mentoring direct reports

Specific competencies related to instructional design

Conduct a needs assessment/analysis

Plan and monitor training projects

Assess the relevant characteristics of the target audience and learning environment

Perform job, task, and/or content analysis

Write criterion-referenced, performance-based objectives

Select instructional media

Recommend instructional strategies and plan

Certified in instructional design

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline

Advanced degree in education, instructional design or related field

Typically requires 10 years of work experience and 3 years of supervisory/management experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay Range:

$192,000 - $288,000

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
