We are looking for a Devices Industrialization Lead who is technically strong, collaborative, and solution‑oriented to join our Devices, Artwork & Packaging (DAP) team, supporting the industrialization and manufacturing readiness of innovative drug delivery devices, based in Braine-l'Alleud , Belgium.
About the Role
As Devices Industrialization Lead, you will play a critical role in developing, validating, and industrializing assembly processes for drug delivery devices across UCB’s portfolio. Working within cross‑functional program teams, you will ensure manufacturing processes are scalable, compliant, and aligned with development objectives from early clinical phases through lifecycle management.
You will act as a key bridge between development and manufacturing, ensuring successful process industrialization, process validation, and regulatory readiness while supporting the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑focused solutions.
Who You’ll Work With
You will report to the Head of Device Industrialization and collaborate closely with Device Program Leads, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Patient Supply, Devices Artwork & Packaging, Patient Evidence, and Patient Impact teams. You will also work with external partners and suppliers to ensure successful execution of industrialization activities.
What You’ll Do
Lead the industrialization of assembly processes for drug delivery devices and combination products.
Develop, optimize, and validate manufacturing processes to ensure scalability, efficiency, and compliance.
Partner with cross‑functional teams to support device development, clinical manufacturing, and lifecycle management activities.
Plan and oversee design verification, design validation, and manufacturing validation activities.
Manage industrialization projects, including timelines, budgets, resources, supplier activities, and deliverables.
Support regulatory submissions and responses to regulatory authorities, ensuring manufacturing readiness and compliance.
Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, operational, and supply risks throughout the industrialization process.
Evaluate new device technologies and manufacturing approaches to enhance industrial performance and innovation.
Ensure compliance with medical device regulations, GMP requirements, and quality management systems.
Contribute to sustainability initiatives and support the development of environmentally responsible device solutions.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for:
Degree in engineering, life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline.
Strong experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or combination product development and industrialization.
Knowledge of EU and US medical device and pharmaceutical regulations, GMP requirements, and quality systems.
Experience leading cross‑functional projects involving manufacturing, process validation, and technology transfer.
Strong stakeholder‑management, communication, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to influence across a matrix environment.
