Job Description:
Responsible for all marketing and sales related activities, outcomes and strategy for the Rare Disease portfolio, work closely together with other cross-functional rare disease team members, especially the medical counterpart and leverage collaboration with other Ipsen departments, when applicable. Ensure a high level of HCP disease awareness in scope for rare diseases, as well as optimal access and adoption for our rare disease brands, all this by applying a patient-centric approach from strategy to execution.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3–5 Key Account Managers to achieve business objectives.
Achieves defined business and activity objectives by combining strategic stakeholder engagement with active contribution to disease awareness, center development, referral pathways, and patient access optimization.
Identifies, maps, and engages with potential new treatment centers to expand access and drive early diagnosis.
Actively supports the development of peripheral centers, ensuring proper patient identification, referral, and linkage to established centers of excellence.
Initiates and coordinates disease awareness campaigns, both digitally and on-site, in collaboration with Medical Affairs and Communications.
Ensures a thorough understanding and optimization of the patient journey, including diagnostic delays, treatment access, and follow-up.
Collaborates in the creation and distribution of educational tools and referral materials to support HCPs in recognizing and referring patients.
Establishes productive and compliant relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), medical societies, and advocacy groups.
Promotes Ipsen’s rare disease portfolio based on approved tactical plans, ensuring alignment with both global and local strategies.
Ensures that all activities are executed in full compliance with ARPIM Code of Ethics and Ipsen internal procedures.
Gathers and analyzes insights from the field to identify barriers to diagnosis and treatment, reporting trends and proposing solutions.
Collaborates cross-functionally with Medical, Market Access, and Regulatory to support launch readiness and market shaping initiatives.
Supports omnichannel initiatives (webinars, e-details, congresses, etc.) to ensure consistent scientific engagement and visibility.
Education / Certifications
University Degree, preferably in Healthcare or Science
Experience
5 years of experience as Key Account Manager or Sales Specialist in innovative healthcare sector
Track record of successful leadership
Min. 3 years of experience in rare disease areas represents an advantage
Experience in product launch
Proven track record in account management, patient access initiatives, awareness campaigns
Experience in, and knowledge of, specialty markets with complex science and reimbursement
Experience with full commercial product support – covering sales as well as marketing responsibilities
Languages
Fluency in English – Advanced level
Key competencies requirements
· Strategic marketing (launch, branding, targeting, segmentation, life cycle management) and pharmaceutical key account management experience
· Strong analytical and numerical skills and an ability to manage complex situations and make expedient decisions, execute plans and achieve ambitious results
· Excellent organization, launch, planning, implementation, budgetary and project management abilities. Structured and strategic.
· Willingness to develop extensive experience and knowledge in the therapeutic areas
· Ability to work in a matrix organization, good team player
· Ability to establish relationships with KOLs and relevant HCP etc.
· Ability to ensure translation of vision and strategy is embedded into relevant platforms & ecosystems
