Position summary
The CEE Biosurgery & Advanced Surgical Healing Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing integrated commercial marketing strategies for the Ethicon Biosurgery and Advanced Surgical Healing portfolios across Central and Eastern Europe, with dedicated focus on CZ, SK and HU for Advanced Surgical Healing commercial execution.
The role translates Global, EMEA and regional strategies into locally relevant commercial plans, ensuring sustainable growth, strong profitability, successful product adoption and consistent execution across markets. It owns the regional marketing plan, portfolio lifecycle management, launch excellence, customer engagement, sales enablement, pricing and revenue management, market development and marketing investment priorities.
The manager acts as a key commercial interface between regional/global marketing, local sales organizations, finance, supply chain, regulatory, medical affairs, market access, professional education and key customers. Success is measured through market share growth, revenue, profitability, customer adoption, launch effectiveness and execution excellence.
Primary objectives
Accelerate growth of the Ethicon Biosurgery and Advanced Surgical Healing portfolios across CEE and assigned CEE Central markets.
Build clear commercial strategies based on customer insights, market opportunity, procedure dynamics and competitive intelligence.
Increase procedure penetration, product adoption and customer engagement through evidence-based value propositions and effective sales enablement.
Deliver successful product launches, portfolio optimization and commercial readiness across markets.
Strengthen customer experience and long-term relationships with KOLs, healthcare institutions and strategic accounts.
Partner with Sales and cross-functional teams to translate strategy into practical execution and measurable business impact.
Ensure all activities align with the Johnson & Johnson Credo, HCC requirements, local regulations and promotional compliance standards.
Key responsibilities
Commercial strategy and business planning
Develop annual and multi-year commercial strategies for Biosurgery and Advanced Surgical Healing across the defined CEE scope.
Shape portfolio strategy, market segmentation, target account prioritization, growth initiatives and competitive positioning.
Translate Global, EMEA and regional strategies into locally executable commercial plans and tactical priorities.
Provide pricing recommendations, value proposition development and commercial business planning support.
Identify market opportunities and barriers to adoption, then convert insights into actionable commercial initiatives.
Portfolio management and lifecycle leadership
Own product positioning, portfolio optimization, launch planning, forecasting, product rationalization and end-of-life planning.
Manage SKU optimization, pricing strategy and commercial readiness in collaboration with Sales, Supply Chain and Finance.
Support portfolio lifecycle decisions with market, customer, financial and competitive analysis.
Ensure portfolio priorities are clear to sales teams and aligned to market potential and business objectives.
Marketing planning and customer engagement
Develop and execute annual marketing plans, tactical marketing plans, product campaigns and educational campaigns.
Plan congress activities, workshops, customer events and omnichannel engagement initiatives.
Build customer engagement strategies that strengthen adoption, clinical confidence and differentiated value messaging.
Develop and maintain KOL relationships and partnerships with healthcare institutions to support market development.
Launch excellence and market development
Lead regional launches from strategy through execution, including commercial readiness, sales training, clinical messaging, marketing collateral and customer education.
Coordinate market access support, KPI monitoring, launch effectiveness analysis and continuous improvement actions.
Accelerate new product launches and customer adoption by aligning field execution, professional education and marketing communications.
Improve procedure penetration and market development through clear opportunity mapping and targeted account activation.
Market analysis, pricing and revenue management
Continuously analyze market trends, competitor activity, procedure volumes, clinical practice evolution, customer feedback and hospital purchasing behavior.
Monitor sales performance, market share, pricing dynamics, revenue and profitability to guide commercial decisions.
Develop recommendations on pricing, investment priorities and revenue management to support sustainable growth.
Convert customer and market insights into actionable initiatives for Sales, Marketing and cross-functional partners.
Sales partnership and field execution
Act as a strategic marketing partner to the regional and local Sales organizations.
Provide sales enablement materials, product training, competitive selling tools, clinical evidence summaries and value messaging.
Support opportunity identification, account prioritization and business planning with Sales Directors and Territory Managers.
Conduct frequent field visits to understand customer needs firsthand and translate insights into stronger commercial execution.
Cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management
Lead through influence across a highly matrixed regional and international organization.
Work closely with Sales Directors, Territory Managers, Commercial Excellence, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Global Strategic Marketing, EMEA Marketing, Professional Education and Market Access.
Serve as the commercial interface connecting global/regional strategy, local market needs and operational execution.
Ensure alignment, timely decision-making and practical implementation across multiple markets and stakeholders.
Compliance and Credo-based leadership
Ensure all commercial and marketing activities comply with Johnson & Johnson Credo, HCC requirements and local healthcare regulations.
Uphold promotional compliance, ethical marketing standards, procurement regulations and relevant industry codes of conduct.
Champion responsible customer engagement, compliant education and transparent business practices in every aspect of execution.
Experience and qualifications
Typically 5-8+ years of experience in medical device, healthcare marketing or related commercial roles.
Strong commercial marketing, product management and strategic marketing experience.
Demonstrated experience in product launches, sales collaboration and cross-functional project leadership.
Healthcare industry knowledge required; Biosurgery or Advanced Surgical Healing experience preferred.
Proven ability to work across multiple countries, stakeholders and matrix teams.
Strong analytical capability, financial acumen and comfort translating data into commercial decisions.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Success profile

Slovakia - The anticipated base pay range for this position is 40 200 - 68 425 EUR gross annually.
Poland -The anticipated base pay range for this position is 205 000 - 354 200 POL gross annually.
Croatia - The anticipated base pay range for this position is 50 600 - 86 710 EUR gross annually.
Hungary - The anticipated base pay range for this position is 14 351 000 - 24 760 650 HUF gross annually.
