Your Role

MilliporeSigma is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Project Specialist with strong AutoCAD proficiency to support multi-disciplinary engineering and project execution. This role combines project coordination, drafting, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate design documentation, timely deliverables, and compliant project handoffs.

Key Responsibilities:

Create, modify, and maintain precise 2D and 3D CAD drawings and schematics for capital projects, facility upgrades, and maintenance work

Deploy tools to enable better troubleshooting for maintenance and shop floor employees, from search features to AI

Translate engineering concepts and field observations into clear CAD models and drawings (including P&IDs, floor plans, elevations, and assembly layouts)

Support project schedules by coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction, and QA/QC teams; track drawing deliverables and revisions

Review and redline drawings for accuracy, standards compliance, and constructability; ensure redline approval and proper document control

Manage CAD libraries, level structures, blocks, commonly used symbols, and standard drawing templates; enforce naming conventions and version control

Assist in the preparation of as-built records, commissioning packages, and operation & maintenance (O&M) manuals

Support regulatory compliance activities by ensuring drawings meet internal standards and external code requirements

Maintain thorough documentation of changes, approvals, and project-related communications

Provide ad hoc technical support to project teams, including site visits, field measurements, and data collection as needed

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline

2+ years of AutoCAD experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline

Proficient in AutoCAD (2D drafting and 3D modeling) with a strong portfolio of drawings

Capable of building datasets and organizing data, leveraging AI tools and deploying them to search documentation

Familiarity with plant/layout drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, and electrical/site plans

Knowledge of document control processes and drawing revision workflows

Basic understanding of CAD standards, layer management, block libraries, and annotation practices

Comfortable with Windows-based software, Microsoft Office suite, and PDF/document management tools

Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving mindset

Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and with non-technical stakeholders

Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working with minimal supervision

Familiarity with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements relevant to pharmaceutical/manufacturing environments

Pay Range for this position: $63,60000 - $95,500 annually

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
