LIVE

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Business Architect, AI Studio position offers a unique opportunity to join a collaborative, innovative team within the AI & Data Science organization. This role will support next-generation AI, automation, process intelligence, digital workflow, and productivity capabilities across the AI Studio portfolio.

This pre-delivery business architecture role focuses on shaping business demand before technical design and delivery. The role partners with business stakeholders, product teams, solution partners, and delivery architects to clarify opportunities, define business value, document business processes, and prepare high-quality demand for prioritization and technical review.

The Business Architect is responsible for leading discovery activities, capturing business context, defining value drivers, supporting business cases, documenting current-state and future-state processes, and ensuring opportunities are ready to progress through intake, discovery, technical review, prioritization, and delivery planning. This role helps ensure that AI and automation investments are connected to measurable business outcomes and that delivery teams receive clear, complete, and value-aligned opportunities.

The Business Architect will play a critical role in strengthening portfolio quality, improving prioritization decisions, and supporting value-driven delivery. The role provides structured, evidence-based inputs related to strategic alignment, business value, risk, urgency, dependencies, expected outcomes, and delivery readiness.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead business discovery for AI, automation, process, workflow, and digital opportunities across AI Studio.

Partner with business stakeholders, submitters, product managers, solution partners, delivery architects, and delivery leads to clarify needs, scope, expected outcomes, and readiness for technical review.

Translate ambiguous requests into structured opportunity statements covering the business problem, stakeholder impact, current-state pain points, desired future state, value drivers, risks, dependencies, assumptions, and success measures.

Support intake triage by assessing whether requests are complete, strategically aligned, and ready for discovery.

Capture the voice of the customer and translate stakeholder input into opportunity briefs, process maps, value summaries, business case inputs, decision narratives, and discovery documentation.

Define current-state and future-state processes using fit-for-purpose methods such as process flows, SIPOC diagrams, value stream maps, journey maps, capability maps, and decision flows.

Identify process inefficiencies, gaps, handoffs, dependencies, business rules, risks, and opportunities for AI, automation, or process improvement.

Partner with stakeholders to define value drivers, including productivity, cost avoidance, quality and compliance, customer and employee experience, speed-to-patient, revenue growth, sustainability, and transformation enablement.

Support business case development by documenting value assumptions, adoption expectations, measurable outcomes, and the connection between business activities and value.

Distinguish among product-level, release-level, new, and sustained value to support portfolio planning and value tracking.

Collect and validate business-side prioritization inputs, including strategic value, product value, release value, value confidence, reputational risk, dependencies, severity, urgency, and resource commitments.

Prepare opportunities for technical review by documenting business context, scope, outcomes, data and content sources, access and security needs, dependencies, subject matter experts, use cases, and business contacts.

Partner with delivery architects to address gaps before feasibility assessment and ensure a clean handoff into technical design and delivery planning.

Create leadership-ready summaries of the business problem, value, recommendation, scope, risks, tradeoffs, and next steps.

Support prioritization discussions by explaining how value, urgency, risk, strategic alignment, and effort influence portfolio decisions.

Use approved AI technologies, including ChatGPT, to accelerate discovery, synthesize stakeholder input, improve documentation, structure business cases, and create reusable process artifacts.

Collaborate across global, virtual, and cross-functional teams to align business, product, architecture, and delivery stakeholders around clear outcomes.

Drive continuous improvement across intake, discovery, business architecture, value definition, and pre-delivery readiness practices.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
