The Position

As a Biospecimen Associate III in Pleasanton, California, you will manage critical biological assets that serve as the foundation for the research, development, and validation of diagnostic products . You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ensuring the availability and integrity of these specimens to play a key role in advancing diagnostic innovation . Joining our team means collaborating with diverse stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of quality while navigating technical challenges with minimal supervision .

The Opportunity

Manage the life cycle of biospecimens by receiving, storing, retrieving, and distributing physical biological samples with minimal supervision .

Perform essential laboratory tasks, including sample aliquoting and pooling .

Interface directly with our validated digital tracking systems to create, update, and maintain meticulous sample data records .

Oversee the physical inventory of biospecimens, conduct routine storage monitoring, and manage laboratory supplies .

Prepare samples for global shipments and maintain a strict chain of custody to meet complex shipping requirements .

Collaborate cross-functionally with user groups and stakeholders to hit project timelines, resolve service requests, and meet customer commitments .

Investigate and resolve data discrepancies alongside subject matter experts to maintain total data validity .

Propose innovative solutions to workflow bottlenecks, support continuous improvement efforts, and actively assist with safety, quality, and regulatory audits .

Who you are

You hold an Associate degree in a biological discipline (or related field) plus 3 years of relevant work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a biological discipline or related field .

You are a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual who works well with minimal supervision and communicates effectively across diverse, fast-paced teams .

You are fully willing and able to work with potentially infectious biological material, dry ice, -80 degree freezers, and liquid nitrogen .

You are proficient with MS Excel, Google Suite, and digital laboratory tracking systems, demonstrating a strong commitment to data validity and good documentation practices .

You can follow complex instructions, stand for long periods, lift up to 30 lbs, climb ladders, and comfortably work in cold storage environments with limited daylight .

Preferred

You have experience handling biological specimens and ideally bring prior biobanking or inventory management experience .

You have practical experience working in a BSL 2 Laboratory .

You are organized, adaptable, and meticulous, with a results-oriented mindset .

You are capable of handling multiple projects concurrently and operating efficiently within a fast-paced, dynamic environment .

The expected salary range for this position is based on the primary location of Pleasanton, CA  is $59,600.00 - 92,000.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance
