About this opportunity

Are you passionate about transforming real-world data into evidence that can improve patient outcomes and influence healthcare decision-making? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where you can shape strategy, build partnerships and drive innovation across a complex healthcare ecosystem? Join Novo Nordisk as Associate Director, Real World Evidence (RWE), and play a key role in advancing evidence generation across Europe and Canada.

Your New Role

As Associate Director, Real World Evidence, you will provide strategic leadership for evidence generation activities across the Europe & Canada (EUCAN) region. Working across all therapy areas, you will identify evidence gaps, shape evidence generation priorities and drive high-impact research initiatives.

This is a highly visible regional role requiring scientific expertise, strong stakeholder management capabilities and the ability to influence without direct authority in a complex matrix environment. As the RWE landscape continues to evolve, you will help develop new approaches, partnerships and capabilities that strengthen Novo Nordisk’s evidence generation ecosystem.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Driving real-world evidence strategies and evidence generation initiatives across the EUCAN region.

Providing scientific and methodological expertise in epidemiology, observational research, study design and real-world data opportunities.

Partnering with affiliate evidence managers, Global Medical Affairs, R&D and International Operations to align evidence priorities and execution plans.

Establishing and managing collaborations with investigators, healthcare providers, research organisations, data partners and other external stakeholders.

Building regional capabilities, improving processes and strengthening evidence generation excellence across the region.

Your New Department

You will join the Cardiometabolic Medical Affairs organisation within Region Europe & Canada (EUCAN) based in Ørestad in Copenhagen, where evidence generation plays a critical role in supporting strategic medical priorities across a diverse portfolio of therapies.

The team operates across multiple countries and functions working in a highly collaborative environment. As part of a growing and evolving RWE function, you will have the opportunity to help shape ways of working, influence regional strategy and contribute to the long-term development of evidence generation capabilities across Europe and Canada.

Your Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a scientifically driven and strategically minded professional who thrives in an evolving environment and enjoys building alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

An advanced degree in Epidemiology, Health Economics, Biostatistics, Health Services Research, Data Science or another relevant scientific discipline.

> 5 years pharmaceutical industry experience within Real World Evidence, Real World Data, epidemiology, evidence generation, data science or related evidence generation functions.

Strong epidemiology expertise and experience evaluating study designs, observational research methodologies and evidence generation opportunities.

Therapeutic area expertise in diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease is advantageous but not essential.

Proven ability to build and manage complex stakeholder relationships across local, regional and global organisations, as well as establish and drive external partnerships.

Excellent communication, strategic thinking and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive progress through collaboration.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
