BioNTech SE is seeking an insurance professional with a strong legal background to support and further develop our global liability insurance portfolio. While the role has a clear focus on liability insurance, it is intentionally broad in scope and offers the opportunity to contribute across additional corporate insurance lines in a global environment. Depending on the candidate’s professional experience, the position can be shaped with a stronger developmental focus or with immediate ownership of key responsibilities.
Your main responsibilities:
Manage BioNTech´s insurance portfolio across following lines:
Product liability
General / public liability
Clinical trial liability
Workers compensation / employers liability / EPLI
Cyber insurance
Motor and other corporate insurance lines
Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders across R&D, Clinical Operations, Legal, Manufacturing, Quality, Commercial and Risk Management on insurance-related matters
Review and assess business activities, contracts and operational processes with regard to liability exposures and insurance implications
Participate in or lead negotiations with insurers, brokers and external advisors, depending on experience level
Manage and maintain insurance policies, certificates of insurance and proof of coverage
Support or take ownership of claims handling across insurance lines, including coverage analysis and coordination with insurers, brokers and internal stakeholders
Contribute to additional corporate insurance lines beyond liability, where required
Provide backup within the insurance team to ensure continuity across insurance topics and regions
Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments affecting liability risks and incorporate them into appropriate insurance solutions
Support budgeting, invoice verification and coordination with Finance and other internal departments
Contribute to the continuous improvement of BioNTech’s global insurance and risk management framework
Your profile:
Fully qualified lawyer (Volljurist) or holder of an equivalent foreign legal qualification
Professional experience in liability law, insurance, corporate insurance or risk management (early-career candidates as well as experienced professionals are welcome)
Willingness to take responsibility beyond a single insurance line and to work across a broad corporate insurance portfolio
Team-oriented, reliable and flexible working style with the ability to represent insurance topics internally and externally
Strong analytical skills, structured working style and clear stakeholder communication
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
German (conversational level) is required; additional languages are an advantage
