Job Description:

The Associate Director, Commercial Operations is responsible for serving as the strategic link between the Rare Disease Business Unit (RDBU) Commercial Operations organization and field teams, ensuring alignment, communication, and execution of key business priorities.

The role partners closely with the National Sales Director and Head of Thought Leader Liaisons (TLLs) to enhance field engagement, drive cross-functional execution, and improve field effectiveness. The Associate Director leads initiatives that strengthen collaboration between the home office and field organization, enables successful implementation of commercial strategies and capabilities, and translates field insights into actionable solutions that support organizational performance and overall operation of the business unit.

WHAT - Main Responsibilities

Field Partnership & Engagement

Serve as the primary liaison between the RBDU home office and field teams (Sales and TLL), ensuring alignment on business priorities and initiatives

Partner closely with the National Sales Director and Head of TLLs to enhance field culture, engagement, and organizational effectiveness

Lead planning and execution of key field meetings, communications, and leadership engagement activities

Represent field perspectives and insights to inform leadership decision-making

Commercial Execution & Cross-Functional Leadership

Drive successful implementation of commercial initiatives through collaboration across RBDU Operations and Training as well as Medical, BOS, and V&A teams

Collaborate on the development, enhancement, and deployment of field tools and processes, including CRM, Veeva, targeting, and customer engagement platforms

Support rollout and adoption of new commercial strategies, capabilities, and organizational initiatives

Act as a key integrator across functions to remove barriers and accelerate business priorities

Facilitate communication and alignment between regional leadership teams and home office stakeholders

Field Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement

Identify field challenges, operational gaps, and development opportunities through ongoing engagement with Sales and TLL teams

Partner with field and commercial leadership to develop and implement solutions that improve impact

Collaborate with Training and Analytics partners to design and execute programs that strengthen field capabilities and improve execution

Monitor and evaluate the impact of field initiatives, providing recommendations to optimize outcomes and support achievement of business objectives.

HOW - Knowledge & Experience

Knowledge & Experience (essential):

A Minimum of 6 years of pharma/biotech industry experience with a breadth of knowledge in Sales & Marketing

Ability to prepare & deliver impactful presentations, supported with data

Analytical background with the ability to integrate multiple data sets, analyze large data sets and create quick turnaround executive summaries

Ability to work with multiple internal cross-functional teams and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Proven track record of effective project management and producing results as a team and/or individual contributor

Working within an environment of strict compliance to all appropriate regulatory guidelines to successfully design and execute tactics, programs and tools that achieve business objectives

Knowledge & Experience (preferred):

2+ years of Management or Strategy Consulting experience, within a Life Sciences or Pharma/Biotech practice

Experience in Pharma/Biotech field sales, or sales operations

Experience with specialty / rare disease data & analytics

Pharma/Biotech launch experience

Education / Certifications

BA/BS is required; MBA is strongly preferred

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $143,250 - $210,000

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentives program. The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
