Job Description:
Summary & Purpose of the Position
The role is responsible for leading the Commercial business processes associated with Strategic Planning, Forecasting, Business Reporting, Market Analytics and Launch Excellence .The vision for this role is to build and lead an organizational center of excellence that focuses on driving innovation and enhancing the speed and quality of corporate decision making through the generation of patient, customer, and market insights.
The Business Analytics & Strategic Planning role will also have responsibilities as Chief of Staff for the Ipsen Canada Leadership Team. These responsibilities include managing the ICLT meeting agendas and logistics, capturing meeting actions, and monitoring progress against the approved actions. In addition, the role will also be responsible for planning and facilitating the annual ICLT strategic planning activities and will lead ad hoc corporate projects that are deemed to be strategically critical to the business.
Successfully executing this mandate requires an individual with strong business acumen built upon extensive pharmaceutical commercial experience and an advanced understanding of pharmaceutical planning, forecasting and analytics. This will be supported by a consistent track record of integrating disparate pieces of information to identify trends, outlining the relevant business implications, and distilling the findings into clear business recommendations. In addition, it will also be important to demonstrate exceptional influence and impact skills to driving consensus and alignment regarding these recommendations at all levels of the organization.
Within Ipsen Canada, this role will be viewed as a critical business resource that will work in close partnership with the Commercial Business Units and the Ipsen Canada Leadership Team to meeting planning milestones, monitor business performance and proactively identify opportunities and risks.
Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Chief of Staff for the Ipsen Canada Leadership Team (ICLT)
Leading Corporate strategic planning activities and monitor progress versus plan objectives
Leading Enterprise-wide corporate projects that are deemed to be strategically critical to the business
Leading local development of forecasts and analytics ensuring tight integration with Global Commercial requirements and local financial planning deliverables
Leading the commercial assessment of Ipsen new product and business development opportunities
Leading the development and ongoing management of the Ipsen Canada Launch Excellence capability
Leveraging primary and secondary research insights and team brand inputs to build accurate, actionable, and evidenced based forecasting models
Analyzing forecast and business results to highlight risks and opportunities by brand, channel, and customer
Translating risks and opportunities into forecast scenarios to enable ongoing business decision-making
Continuously improving the relevant business processes through benchmarking, process improvements, and updates to operating procedures
Leading acquisition strategy for secondary data sources
Leading Ipsen Canada data management and reporting strategy
Supporting ad hoc analytical requests
Knowledge & Experience
Knowledge & Experience (essential):
Marketing, new product marketing, sales or business development experience required
Advanced understanding of pharmaceutical forecasting, marketing analytics, brand planning and market research
Ability to use analytical models to forecast business results is required
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint are required
Communicates data, insights and concepts with clarity, impact and passion
Recognizes and adapts to peoples' differing communication styles and preferences
Positively challenges and persuades internal and external customers to reach mutually beneficial agreements
Follows Ipsen Corporate Policies and Procedures and Canadian industry mandated guidelines for all activities
Knowledge & Experience (preferred):
10+ years of pharmaceutical and/or biotech commercial experience preferred
Basic to proficient capability with modern data, analytic and reporting tools is preferred
Education / Certifications (essential):
Bachelor’s degree required
