Shape the future of medical launch excellence at Novo Nordisk by leading the global alignment, governance, and capability building across our portfolio, connecting scientific excellence with world-class execution to reach more patients, faster.

Your new role

As Associate Global Medical Launch Excellence Director, your main task will be to strengthen medical launch excellence across our portfolio.  Working across functions, therapeutic areas, and geographies, you will create alignment and drive change across reporting lines in a matrix organisation.

This high-visibility role requires sound organisational judgement and the ability to influence without formal authority. You will build trusted partnerships with stakeholders, challenge constructively, and create the alignment needed to shape how we work with launches across medical affairs. You will mobilise stakeholders around shared ambitions and clear priorities, while building governance, orchestration and capabilities that enable consistent, scalable, high-quality medical launches worldwide.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Leading Medical Affairs launch excellence across the global portfolio, establishing launch governance, integrated planning and milestone management

Creating alignment across the matrix organisation and acting as the primary Global Medical Affairs (GMA) interface to launch functions in International Operations, US Operations and Global Launch Excellence

Developing and continuously improving launch playbooks, methodologies, templates and KPIs that set the standard for execution  but are grounded in the practical realities of delivering medical launches in markets

Driving launch readiness reviews, risk management and executive reporting to keep launches on track

Facilitating cross-functional decision-making and issue resolution across multiple therapeutic areas and global functions

Building launch capabilities through coaching, training and knowledge sharing – and capturing lessons learned to raise the bar with every launch

Monitoring external trends and benchmarking industry-leading launch excellence capabilities to recommend strategic enhancements

Your new department

In Product & Portfolio Strategy we drive commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across all therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass, guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained competitiveness upstream, and maximising portfolio potential through successful commercial strategies and competitive launches downstream.

Within Product & Portfolio Strategy, you will join the Business Operations team in Global Medical Affairs, a dynamic, highly international team with an informal and collaborative atmosphere. Working at the heart of GMA, the team partners with senior leaders to turn strategy into action. From here you will collaborate closely with the enterprise Launch Office, GMA stakeholders, and key launch partners across regional and affiliate teams.

Your skills & qualifications

We're looking for a seasoned launch leader who combines strategic thinking with operational rigour and thrives in complex, cross-functional environments.  You'll bring with you:

A higher university degree (MSc, PharmD, MD or PhD) in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine or a related discipline.  An MBA or equivalent business qualification is advantageous.

10+ years within the pharmaceutical industry with significant Medical Affairs experience and clear subject matter expertise

Demonstrated success leading product launches, with experience in business operations, medical excellence, and ideally with Medical Affairs launch experience from an affiliate

Proven leadership of complex cross-functional programmes and a track record of influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority

Experience developing enterprise processes, governance and capability frameworks at scale from portfolio management or PMO role

A strategic and enterprise mindset paired with exceptional stakeholder management, executive communication, structured problem-solving and strong analytical skills

Resilience, collaboration and a continuous improvement orientation, combined with digital and technology savviness

Computed from every other active role in our database, not just this employer's listings.

We don't have enough classified peer data for this role yet, so there's no comparison to show. This happens when a posting's title/category doesn't match any taxonomy rule -- it's excluded rather than compared against the wrong peer group.
