Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson MedTech - Surgery is recruiting for a summer 2027 internship. This is a laboratory-based position in Raritan, NJ.

This internship position will join the Analytical Characterization group within the company's research and development organization. You will perform hands-on experiments in the area of wet chemistry, and chromatography, under the supervision of lab scientists and collaborate with other analytical associates. You will perform sample management and data curator under the supervision of lab managers. You will also participate in New Product Development project teams, interact with cross-functional R&D development associates, develop analytical methods, and deliver results to support product development.

Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibility for this position is to work with scientists to perform wet chemistry, and chromatography in support of new product development and life-cycle management.

•          The daily activities focus on sample preparation, testing, data collection, notebook recording, data analysis, and data reporting.

•          Login and manage samples submitted from the stability group.

•          Practices safe and environmentally sound laboratory techniques adhering to regulatory, local government, and safety guidelines.

•          Communicates clearly and concisely, through verbal and written reports.

•          Maintain good documentation and lab notebook per company procedures, and FDA/ICH guidelines.

 

Qualifications

Education:

Currently enrolled in an accredited College/University, pursuing a BA/BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields. Must not be a Senior graduating prior to the program end date (Seniors must be willing/allowed to extend graduation date if applied and hired). A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

Knowledge of basic chemistry lab skills is required.

Must be able to work permanently in the US and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., F1, H1-B status)

Available to work fulltime (40 hours/week) with reliable transportation to and from work.

Preferred:

Bench work experience in chemistry

Good communication and writing skills.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$23.00/hr to $51.50/hr

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

The expected pay range for this position is between $23.00 per hour and $51.50 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co-Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension).
