The Position

The Opportunity

The Admin and SHE Officer plays a dual role in ensuring operational excellence and organizational resilience for Roche in Cameroon. You will be responsible for the seamless day-to-day administration of the office while serving as the strategic lead for Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE). Your mission is to protect our people, secure our assets, and drive a high-performance culture through digital innovation and rigorous compliance.

Main Responsibilities

Administrative Support

- Documentation & Financial Flow: Manage the full lifecycle of physical and digital records, including contracts and correspondence, while ensuring all invoices are accurately uploaded for processing.

- Operational Readiness & Compliance: Assist in documenting core processes like Site Management and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) to ensure the team is fully prepared for upcoming SHE audits.

- Logistics & Team Coordination: Oversee complex schedules, travel arrangements, and office procurement, while organizing team-building activities to foster a high-performance culture.

- Digital Innovation: Proactively identify and implement digital tools and solutions to streamline workflows and improve the overall effectiveness of the team.

SHE Support

- Strategic Leadership & Advisory: Lead the "One SHE" team in Cameroon and act as a key advisor to Senior Management, integrating safety, health, and environmental strategies into the broader business planning process.

- Operational Security & Resilience: Implement site security protocols and maintain a robust Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to ensure organizational resilience and rapid recovery during operational disruptions.

- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all activities align with local regulations and Roche Global policies, managing the documentation of SHE KPIs, reporting, and maintaining critical liaisons with law enforcement and professional bodies.

- Performance & Culture: Foster a workplace culture that prioritizes well-being while driving continuous improvement by benchmarking local practices against global industry standards.

Who you are

Required Experience and Education

- Holder of a Bachelor or Master Degree

- Experience in Pharmaceutical environment is a plus

Required Competencies and Skills

- Master the use of digital tolls (Powerpoint, Excel, Word etc)

Showing analytical skills, capability of processing big data sets & drawing right conclusions with proven negotiation  skills.

- Ability to work independently and also develop team working spirit, prioritize within an interdisciplinary environment that includes scientists, engineers, business and consultants

- Strong interpersonal and networking skills

- Excellent communication and effective problem-solving skills, track record in serving a variety of diverse customers and projects

- A proactive, self-driven individual with a growth mindset and a positive can-do attitude.

- Great sense of ownership and accountability and  with a desire to make an impact as a part of a high-growth, transformational team that is Bold, Relentless, Curious, and Collaborative.

Note: This role is on external contract basis (renewable every year)
