Job Description
As an AbbVie Packaging Engineering Co-Op, you’ll participate in a paid, six-month program working on meaningful assignments that have a real impact on our business and patients worldwide. AbbVie’s Global Packaging organization offers you an opportunity to work in a variety of packaging formats and materials. Throughout the duration, there will be developmental and networking activities, along with housing and shuttle services for eligible students. Co-op’s will be expected to work from our North Chicago campus headquartered in north suburban Chicago, at least three days per week, in accordance with company policy.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Packaging development and testing for new projects
Test protocol and test execution
Material identification, selection, and specifications
Data mining for standardization opportunities
Sustainability and packaging improvement opportunities
Coordinate and perform independent and team experiments in laboratory and manufacturing plants
Qualifications
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s in Packaging or related field
Must be returning to university the semester following your Co-Op
Expected graduation date between December 2027 - June 2029
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal skills
Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and project management skills
Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative and integrity
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Strong academic performance

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
